The Contradictory Nature Of The Journey Of The Heart
Saturday November 16th 2019
The path that is listening to our needs and longings can at times be a fierce one. One that asks a growing trust to stay with what is alive for us at any given moment. Why would you approach what can feel like an all consuming fire of inner experience that screams at you to run. This is the contradiction. That in fact, maybe bringing our compassionate presence to the experience allows life.
Rather than exiting one particular experience for another or wondering how to transcend or transform our experience, is it possible to remain close to it, just as it is, curious about it's shape and form? Could it be that the freedom we are longing for, the love we long to experience is present in that embrace?
This is the theme and creative journey of this workshop, 'The Contradictory Journey Of The Nature Of The Heart'. We will use the practices of Nonviolent Communication brought by Marshall Rosenberg to respond to visceral somatic experiences as an invitation to stay close to what is here now. It can be an experience of being attracted and terrified at the same time. Is there however, the possibility of attuning to our life's longings within the experience that the compassionate embrace, love, longs to work upon. This is certainly a truth for me, but I don't bring it to you as a truth. I bring it to you as an adventure, an opportunity to have this time with me and others to see what unfolds.
