Feelings communicate to us to what degree we are supporting our needs
Here is a list of needs
You have needs because you have a body. Your body will constantly communicate with you somatically about them
Here is a list of 'faux' feelings
e.g. "I feel that you" is a thought and a judgement, not a feeling

LIFE ALIENATING LANGUAGE
Marshall Rosenberg differentiates between language and thinking that is 'life alienating' and habitual and language and thinking that is 'life supporting' and natural.
Life alienating language is connected to our fight/flight/freeze/fawn natural reaction to danger. Bringing a 'needs consciousness' to our sense of danger creates an inner warming process and supports self-care, self-connection, choice and agency.
The human species cannot be 'punished into' a 'better' way of being in the world.
LIFE ENRICHING LANGUAGE
Natural Giving & Receiving Through Understanding Needs

NEEDS AWARENESS PRACTICE 1
The intention within this practice is to grow warm self-connection. To be with whatever is alive for us, not to change it, ie become calm, nowhere to 'get to' but to befriend it, accompany it and intuit our needs as we do so.
